Expert: Adobe reopens software for Russians to keep clients

MOSCOW, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- U.S. software developer Adobe has returned to Russians the option to download its software to retain clients and a chance to come back to the country, Ivan Panchenko, head of the committee of Russian software integration at software products association Russian Software, told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Thanks to Adobe’s move, the company’s corporate clients can extend their existing subscriptions. It is a clear attempt to keep its current clients and leave a loophole to get back to the market as soon as possible,” Panchenko said.

After Adobe had restricted its sales in the country, its former clients started switching to national alternatives. “Their loyalty to the foreign developer degrades hugely, which means it will be much harder to win them back in the future,” he added.

Adobe, which announced the termination of sales of goods and services in the country in March 2022, has reopened access to its software, including Photoshop and Premier.
